I have a few blog entries on similar subjects, such as images. Anyone reading one of my blog entries on images would never know there were more, and even if they did it would be difficult to locate the others.
This is what Drupal categories seem to be all about - a flexible taxonomy to tie together different nodes on the same topic.
To set up a new category I went into Administer >> Content management >> Categories --> Add vocabulary. I named my new vocabulary "Topic", which is the suggested name, and it makes sense. I selected all the available types for this topic, which in my case were Blog entry, Book page, Forum topic, Image, Page, Poll, and Story. I went with a Hierarchy of Multiple, because I might want to set up some categories which have sub categories. I first had "Free Tagging", which means that you can freely type when adding a node to a category, but changed that because for me a drop down list sounded easier to work with. I did enable "Multiple Select", which will come in handy if I want to add a node about an image module to my images and modules categories.
Once I had "Topic" set up I went into "add terms" for it. There I added a few things I knew I wanted to file blog entries under, like "Images", "Modules", and "Hello World".
Lastly I went into my content one node at a time and added it to the appropriate term.
